Current and Past Accomplishments

MassHire Franklin Hampshire Workforce Board has supported the following strategies and programs to help improve the healthcare industry sector in our region:

  • Developed training for incumbents at Center for Extended Care at Amherst & Farren; career ladders for CNA plus at Sunbridge and Hampshire Care. Personal Care options have now been added to both programs.

  • Established on-going CNA/HHA training, Employer Home Care Partnership, and Eldercare Consortium with Greenfield Community College, including CNA/HHA training in Hampshire County at the MassHire Franklin Hampshire Career Center

  • Created a “Healthcare Bridge” between ESOL/ABE programs and healthcare training programs

  • Provide support for incumbents in non-healthcare jobs (dietary, office, facilities) to access healthcare training

  • Postsecondary programs in Medical Office Administration and now Medical Assisting

  • Joint Career Center/College Info sessions & Career Fairs through USDOL -GPSTEM

  • For Credit CNA option ; Addiction Studies; community college partnerships in PTA and RadTech

  • RN to BSN at Greenfield Community College & Elms College

  • Renewed support for working CNAs to access LPN and other education/training

  • Increased access to Community Health Care Worker Programming

  • Increased enrollment of MassHire FHCC customers in healthcare programs beyond CNA/HHA

  • Reinstatement of FHWB/FHCC Healthcare Career Coach
